Aligarh Cut/Style Sherwani:
Sherwani is a coat like a garment which is born by people in the Indian subcontinent. It is almost similar to the British frock coat. Polish Zupan is also similar to Sherwani.
Sherwani was originated in the 19th century as the European Style court dress of nobles and royals of Mughal Dynasty.
You can call it a fusion of British Frock coat and Kurta and Pajama.
It happened in Lucknow in 1820’s and gradually adopted by rest of the Indian royalty. Later general people also accepted it.
Jawaharlal Nehru used to wear achkan sherwani with churidar.
Sherwani usually features a lot of embroidery and patterns.
