I have been creating graphics logos and social media posts since 2014. I find the shadow effect really good. The Drop Shadow effect highlights the text and makes it easy to read when we use it appropriately.

Whenever I am creating graphics, I most of the times add a drop shadow effect. I am sure, this is the reason, Canva has also introduced various drop shadow effects in its text effects.

Designers must have given feedback to Canva in large number to add drop shadow effect in the tool and here it is in Canva.

The drop shadow effect is embarrassingly out of date. It can also make your text difficult to read when you use it improperly. Lots of designers use it as a presto-chango option for adding the effect of depth without really considering the best alternatives.

As long as the shadows are not overwhelming and creating a floating effect, it can be used wisely. As long as the shadow has an actual purpose solved, it won’t stand out and look cheesy.

How to Add a drop shadow to give depth to text in an image.

The second value ( 10px ) is the vertical offset, or how far down the shadow falls. The third value ( #000 ) is the colour of the shadow.
