Getting Started-Google Maps

There may be two situations, either your business would be already listed in Google Maps or you need to place it if it isn’t there. So let’s learn how to accomplish the task.

Step 1: Open Google Maps and simply click on the Menu Tab at the top left corner.

Step 2: There will be a list of several options, find and click on “Add a missing place” link at the bottom.

Step 3: A box at the left corner will pop up over the map containing all the details’ field “Name”, “Address”, “Category” and more.

Step 4: Drag the map marker at your business’s location and click on the “submit” button.

You will receive an e-mail from Google once your listing is published; usually, it happens immediately. Editing information about existing places takes a longer time.

Note: You can anytime claim your business so that no one can make changes to your information. Simply open your business and click on “Claim this Business”.

Final Step: It will take you on a page which says to send a verification postcard at your location. Once you have that CODE, simply log in to “Google My Business”, select your Business and enter the code.
